8D Problem-Solving (Eight Discipline) is a step-by-step problem-solving methodology popularized by Ford Motor Company.  With the 8D problem-solving process (or Global 8D as Ford calls it), teams address and solve problems by uncovering and eliminating the root cause of the problem.  

8D Training can be time consuming and difficult to develop.  It requires teaching the 8D problem-solving process as well as data collection and analysis tools such as Pareto diagrams, fishbone diagrams, and flowcharts to name just a few.  With 8-D Problem-Solving training employees can learn how to use the 8D Problem-Solving Process at a time and place that is convenient, yet at the same time they will be fully prepared to serve on an 8-D problem-solving team when assigned to their first project.
