Title:  Password Suppression and Clearing Logged On Users

Most Recent Update:  January 3, 2003

Who needs this update?  Anyone with version 2.1 to 2.3x of any of Resource Engineering, Inc. programs.  NOTE:  DO NOT use this update if you have version 2.0.  If you do not know which version you have, please contact Resource Engineering before doing an upgrade.  If you have version 2.0 please contact us (800-810-8326) and we will send you a free upgrade on disk.

Reason for the Update:  When logging in, if you type in an existing learners last name, once the system recognizes a unique name, the first name and the users password show up in the field for the first name.  Also, if the program crashes, the user will still be logged in.  When the users tries to log back in, he/she will be denied access.  A new setting in the administrative options will allow the user to clear the logged on flags.  To set the option for users to clear their own logged on flags, go into the administration panel in the LMC.

Installation Instructions:  The update file is a self-extracting zip file.  It contains four files that need to be replaced in your RE_LMC folder (default location is C:\Program Files).  The files are reseng.exe, ResEng85.sbk, ResEngFE.tbk, and SLMS85.sbk.  To download the update, create a sub-folder in your RE_LMC folder named Updates.  Now, when you download the update, make sure that you save it to the ..\RE_LMC\Updates folder.  Now, in Windows Explorer, navigate to the Updates subfolder and double-click on the downloaded file.  Follow the instructions on the screen.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please back up your existing files prior to installing these files.  The easiest way to do this is in Windows Explorer, right click on the file and select Rename.  Then, append the name of the file with "-bu" so for example, you would now have reseng-bu.exe.

Title:  LogReader Update

Most Recent Update:  January 13, 2003

Who needs this update?  Anyone with version 2.1 to 2.3x of any of Resource Engineering, Inc. programs.  NOTE:  DO NOT use this update if you have version 2.0.  If you do not know which version you have, please contact Resource Engineering before doing an upgrade.  If you have version 2.0 please contact us (800-810-8326) and we will send you a free upgrade on disk.

Reason for the Update:  When analyzing a single log file, you can select various options.  Although you make your option selections, the log reader asks for you to select an option and will not allow you to move beyond that screen.

Installation Instructions:  In the RE_LMC folder, locate the logread.exe file and rename it logread_bu.exe.  Download the new log reader.  When prompted for a location to save to navigate to the RE_LMC folder.  Complete the download and the file will be updated.
